COUNTY — Union County is working to better safeguard local residents, elected officials and business owners against potential disasters and dangerous situations through amendments to its Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). The updated document, county officials said, will focus on known regional challenges like flooding and infrastructure viability while paying careful attention to additional risks posed by climate change and new development.
