The Westfield Town Council has repeatedly highlighted to residents its maintenance success in having Town streets repaved but it has been notably silent on its glaring omission of maintenance of the Town sidewalks. Anyone walking with a stroller knows that many sidewalks are virtually impossible to navigate without having to lift up one end or another of the stroller over sidewalk sections that in some cases are misaligned by several inches. During rainstorms water pools in the off-kilter sections often requiring pedestrians to skirt around sunken sections on sodden grass or vegetative beds.
