Read Between the Lines of Rep. Kean’s Words v. Deeds

Rep. Tom Kean Jr.’s actions consistently reflect a pattern where his voting record directly contradicts his public statements. As NJ-7 voters are aware, Kean supported the “Big Beautiful Budget Bill,” which cuts funding for SNAP, reduces Medicare access for an estimated 70 million people, adds more than $3 trillion to the national debt, and shifts wealth to the top 1 percent through tax breaks. Yet in his recent newsletter, he praises a local nonprofit that providesWIC and SNAP support, food pantries, and affordable housing — programs directly affected by the cuts he supported. Praising these programs at home while voting to reduce their funding in Washington is disingenuous at best.
