Open Rehearsal. Join Choral Art Society of NJ for Open Rehearsals on Tuesdays, February 4th and 11th – Experienced choral singers are invited to attend open rehearsals for Choral Art Society of NJ’s second concert of the 2024/2025 season. Rehearsals are held in the Chapel of The Presbyterian Church in Westfield, 140 Mountain Avenue,Westfield from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Interested singers are encouraged to arrive at 7:00 pm on those evenings. Rehearsals will focus on works scheduled for the May 4, 2025 concert including Fern Hill by John Corigliano and Chariot Jubilee by R. Nathaniel Dett. Open rehearsals are an opportunity to learn more about this welcoming group, meet current members, and consider joining. If you can sing, you should sing with us! No formal auditions are conducted. All shows start at 7 p.m. at the Kuran Cultural Arts Center (a.k.a. the Carriage House), on Watson Road just west of Martine Avenue, next to Fanwood Borough Hall. Volunteers Needed. New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS), a division of New York Blood Center, which provides blood for local patients, is looking for a few good volunteers. The blood drive volunteer is an integral member of our team whose tasks include assisting donors with registration and/or at the refreshment area. No medical background necessary. Volunteers should be outgoing to provide friendly customer service, be able to perform tasks as needed and must provide proof of COVID Vaccination prior to volunteering. Must have transportation. All training is provided including additional precautions for the safety of our team and blood donors.
