Betty J. Evans

Betty J. Evans, Former Westfield Resident

Betty J. Evans, 96, of Warminster, PA died peacefully on May 10, 2026. Born on December 8, 1929 to Ragnhild and John Edwin Johnson in Wilkes-Barre, Betty graduated from Coughlin High School. She served as the state accompanist for the Pennsylvania State Choir and first-seat cellist for the Pennsylvania State High School Orchestra. Music was always an important part of her life.

Betty married Robert E. Evans (“Bob”) on July 14, 1951. Upon his return from service in the U.S. Army, they moved to New Jersey, living in Westfield for 40 years before retiring to Mountainside.

Betty and Bob owned the Bob Evans Insurance Agency in Cranford, NJ for over 25 years, where she served as Office Manager.

She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield, NJ and proud member of P.E.O., raising funds for women’s education and scholarships.

She loved her family dearly. Being a grandmother was her greatest joy. Betty loved stenciling, gardening, attending classical music concerts, and always having a Welsh Corgi at her side. Betty spent the last seven years of her life in Bucks County at Ann’s Choice. She loved her adopted church family at Newtown United Methodist Church.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Jane Evans-DelBianco; son-in-law, David DelBianco; her two granddaughters, Abby and Megan; her daughter- in-law, Barbara and her nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob, their son, Bob Jr., her treasured brother Carl, and her parents Rae and Ed, all of whom she greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, at 11a.m. at Newtown United Methodist Church (35 Liberty Street, Newtown, PA 18940).

Memorial contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to Cottey College (https://cottey.edu/give/onlinegift/) for scholarships for young women, or to the National Center for Healthy Veterans (https:// healthyveterans.org/ways-to-give/), supporting veterans’ mental health.

She will long be remembered for her joyful, loving spirit and her generosity toward others. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Betty truly lived a blessed life.
