EXPLORING HISTORY...Members of the Westfield Historic Preservation Commission were joined last week for a special presentation about the oldest homes in town. The Westfield Historical Society provided several interesting artifacts - including a sword, cannonball and needlepoint piece - for visitors to check out following the presentation.

A Look Back At Some Of Westfield’s Oldest Homes
WESTFIELD — When General George Washington marched his troops through Westfield in the summer of 1781, the Town’s earliest residents (many of whom had loved ones fighting in the Revolutionary War) turned out in force to watch the procession through what was then an agricultural community that was already seeding deep roots.
