Homes and buildings had no central heating, no indoor plumbing, only occasional electricity, and modest school supplies for the children. Lynn was in South Korea as a Peace Corps volunteer. President John F. Kennedy established the Peace Corps in 1961 to promote world peace, friendship, and “meet the urgent needs for skilled manpower” worldwide.
