Averell Eisner

Averell Eisner

Averell Eisner, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong problem- solver, passed away on February 20, 2026. He was born on February 14, 1942, in Perth Amboy, NJ and grew up in Highland Park, NJ. From an early age he displayed a deep love of math and science – the foundation of a life spent at the frontier of technology. He attended Rutgers Preparatory School and later graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, carrying with him a disciplined, analytical mindset that would define both his career and his approach to life.

In 1983, he moved to Westfield, NJ, where he raised a large family. He believed that all problems have solutions: machines could be improved, a long tennis rally was a great way to start a day, conversations were always worth having, and a pun never hurt. His life was one of building — systems, businesses, boats, and most importantly, a family united by love that carries forward his analytical mind and generous spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of curiosity, independence, craftsmanship, and deep family devotion. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen Eisner; his brother, Sherman (Ellen) Eisner; his children, Ken (Patricia) Eisner, Noah (Sarah) Eisner, Shanna (Michael) Hirsch, and Erica Eisner; and his cherished grandchildren, Wilson Eisner, Ben Eisner, Lucia Eisner, Alessandra Eisner, Eli Hirsch, and Sylvia Hirsch. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Averell’s memory to the Brain Chemistry Labs ( https://brainchemistrylabs.org/) in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
