Vivid memories from last year’s battles, with Plainfield, the Westfield High School girls basketball Blue Devils wanted to be well prepared when they hosted the Cardinals in Westfield on December 18. Hounding defense and the strength of seniors Sophie Lane and Megan Logan under the boards defensively and offensively kept the Cardinals at bay while the No. 12 Blue Devils surged to a 55-43 victory.
