Gratitude for Quiet: A Writing Retreat at Zigbone Farm
“Silence is a true friend who never betrays.” - Confucius A farmhouse, rolling hills, 100 hillside acres, ten writers, a communal table for farm fresh meals, warm hosts, an erudite instructor, and assorted donkeys and goats: Zigbone Farm in Western Maryland is my happy place. My phone and laptop take a vacation by sitting idly in my room, replaced by a floral writing pad and a matching pencil. I gaze at the fall-inflected golden-lit hills across the way and enjoy grazing cows and curious donkeys. And I inhale quiet.
