Blue Devils’ 1st-Half Goals Sink Cougars for UCT Soccer Crown
As the final seconds ticked away at AL Johnson High School in Clark on November 1, the top-seeded undefeated Westfield girls soccer Blue Devils knew they had done it. After scoring two strong goals in the first half, their focus remained constant. When the final buzzer sounded and echoed across the field, the team sprinted toward each other, jumping and hugging in celebration as they claimed their second straight Union County Tournament title, beating the second-seeded, 12-3-1 Cranford Cougars, 2-0.
