Here We Grow Celebrates Director Jennifer Carrasquillo’s Achievement of Ph.D. in Educational Leadership

WESTFIELD — It is with immense pride and joy that we share the exciting news that Jennifer Carrasquillo, Director of Here We Grow, has officially earned her Ph.D. in Education, specializing in Educational Leadership, from Capella University.

Jennifer’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. She began her doctoral studies in 2020, right in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. While guiding Here We Grow through a period of rebuilding and growth, Jennifer also dedicated herself to five years of rigorous study, late-night research, and countless hours of writing. Often, she would spend her days at the school from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and then dedicate her evenings to her dissertation work, sometimes even squeezing in discussions with her professor over lunch due to the time zone difference.

Her perseverance, commitment, and passion for education carried her through every demanding step of this journey. We could not be prouder to see her hard work recognized with this remarkable achievement.

“Jennifer is the heart of Here We Grow,” said owner Janette Parkinson. “Her leadership, compassion, and dedication to both our children and our staff have always set her apart. Now, with her Ph.D., she brings even more knowledge, expertise, and vision to our Here We Grow family. This accomplishment reflects not only her personal commitment but also the high standard of excellence we strive for every day.”

About Jennifer Carrasquillo

Jennifer has been an educator since 2000, teaching preschool through middle school students. She began her career as a music director in a private elementary school, later teaching preschool, kindergarten, and first grade in the public school system before moving into leadership as a preschool director in Jersey City, NJ. In 2014, Jennifer joined Here We Grow as Director, where she has been a driving force in shaping our school community.

She also holds a Master’s Degree in Supervision and Administration from St. Peter’s University. Outside the classroom, Jennifer is a classically trained pianist and talented musician who plays the flute and clarinet. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

About Here We Grow At Here We Grow, we are dedicated to providing exceptional child care and education in a safe, loving, and creative environment. With certified teachers, experienced staff, and a hands-on, engaging curriculum, we foster curiosity, exploration, and growth in every child. We offer flexible scheduling options, mobile app communication, live classroom webcams, and a family-first atmosphere that makes Here We Grow a true second home.
