It is my absolute honor to write in support of my dear friend, Reshma Adwar, who is running for a Town Council seat in my ward, Ward 1.
I actually heard about Reshma before I ever met her! My son, then in third grade, came home beaming with excitement telling me how another student’s mom – Reshma – had come to class to share a Diwali activity. He was so proud that his cultural traditions were being shared with his classmates, and his delight warmed my heart. This was an annual tradition for Reshma, and I was lucky enough to join her the following year. By the time the children were in fifth grade, they eagerly looked forward to our visit. They were proud to show us what they remembered about Diwali and share their own cultural traditions with one another.
This is who Reshma is – someone who makes others feel seen, heard, and valued. She brings people together through her warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others. She has an extraordinary way of making her community feel like an extension of her home, always going the extra mile to connect, include and uplift those around her.
I have no doubt that these same qualities will guide her in serving the community once elected. She is exactly the kind of person we need: someone who leads with both heart and integrity.
Reshma Adwar is perfect to represent Ward 1, and I encourage you to join me in voting for her.
With pride and admiration,
Chhavi Sethi
