Cougars Pounce Early, Stun So. Plainfield Gridders, 35-14
Effective preparation during the week helped put the Cranford High School football team well in the driver’s seat when it hosted the South Plainfield Tigers at Memorial Field on September 19. The Cougars struck early with a pair of first-quarter touchdowns, two more in the second quarter and another early in the third to activate the Mercy Rule en route to a 35-14 triumph.
