Robert E. Snauffer

Robert “Bob” Snauffer, 82, of Westfield, NJ, passed away Monday, September 15.
Born in 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA, Robert moved to Westfield in 1971. Robert was a hard working and devoted husband and father. He worked in finance in New York City at Irving Trust Company and then KBC Bank, where he was Managing Director until he retired in 2011. He received his MBA from Boston University, and his undergraduate degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Robert served as an Officer in the U.S. Army at Aberdeen Proving Grounds from1967-1969.
Robert was married to his wife, Susan Snauffer, for 50-years. Susan passed away four years ago and he has deeply missed her ever since. While mourning his wife, he did find much joy and happiness with his daughter and her family, especially with his grandchildren, Quinn and Asa. ‘Bobbie’ was an extremely loving, generous and attentive grandfather who they will deeply miss. Robert is survived by his daughter, Mary Lorraine Snauffer, his son-in-law, Gavin Shulman, and their children 10-year-old Quinn and 5-year-old Asa, all of New York City. Surviving in Pittsburgh is his sister, Gloria Snauffer, and his brother, Tom Snauffer.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, at Dooley’s Colonel Funeral Home in Westfield, NJ from 2-4 p.m. Visitation hours will be from 2-3 p.m. with a ceremony (open to all) following. All are welcomed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation, in honor of his late wife, Susan.
