When my dear friend Reshma Adwar told me she was running for Westfield Ward 1 Town Council, I knew she’d be perfect for the job. Reshma is the kind of person who shows up when you need her, remembers the little things that matter, and gives her time generously without being asked. Being close to her family is one of the reasons I moved my own family to Westfield. That’s why I know she will be a councilwoman who brings the same care, follow through, and reliability to serving our community.
Writing this letter has been a trip down memory lane. Having known Reshma for about 40 years, I’ve witnessed her professional and artistic accomplishments which speak to her work ethic and drive. But it’s her generosity of spirit I admire most, and one example in particular stands out. In the months leading up to my wedding, Reshma coordinated the customary dances, ran countless errands, helped decorate our family home, and even picked up out-of-town guests. No task was too small, no detail too insignificant—she simply rolled up her sleeves and got the job done to help make my wedding extra special and memorable. That’s the approach and dedication she’ll bring to our town’s council.
Reshma stands out as someone who puts service first—service to her family and friends, service to her community, and service to building a brighter future for Westfield. Ward 1 would be lucky to have a representative as hardworking and principled as her. I’m proud to support her—and I hope you will too.
