Raiders Fall to Kent Place In UCT Girls Lax Quarter

The No. 17 fourth-seeded Kent Place Dragons girls lacrosse team defeated the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders, 14-4, in the quarterfinal found of the Union County Tournament on May 5. In a regular-season game on May 6, the 9-7 Raiders wound up on the short side of a 16-6 decision to 9-6 Mount St. Mary.

Against the 8-4 Dragons, Raider Juliana Doran finished with three goals, two forced turnovers, two draws and a ground ball. Carina DiLollo had a goal, assist and a ground ball. Josie Lomonte had two assists, a forced turnover and a ground ball. Grace Cawley had an assist and forced a turnover. Catherine Ciemniecki scooped two ground balls and added a forced turnover. Kayla Murray had two ground balls and a draw.

Dragon Caitlyn Quinn finished with four goals, four assists, eight draws, two ground balls and a forced turnover. Molly Brozowski had four goals, an assist and a ground ball. Cate Collins had three goals, an assist, three ground balls, three draws and a forced turnover.Addie Quinn finished with two goals, two assists, three draws, a forced turnover and a ground ball. Poppy Miller had a goal, two ground balls, a draw and a forced turnover. Kaitlyn Troiano had two assists and two ground balls.

Doran flicked in six goals and added four draws and two forced turnovers against the Mount. Lomonte had an assist and forced three turnovers. Murray had four draws. Cawley had two draws and a forced turnover. Grace Chen had two draws. Goalkeeper Elissa Steingart recorded six saves.

Grace Dailey finished with six goals for the Mount. Natalie Beck had five goals and an assist. Emily Castela had three goals and two assists. Abby Thein scored once as did Lena Taylor. Ella Reed had two assists and seven draws.
