SP-F Scholarship Foundation To Hold ‘Dining For Dollars’

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD — The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Scholarship Foundation will hold its Fourth Annual Restaurant Week Fundraiser: Dining For Dollars. Beginning Sunday, November 17, through Saturday, November 23, participating restaurants will donate 10 percent of their profits from a customer’s check to the Foundation (the purchase of alcoholic beverages is excluded) to help raise scholarship money for Scotch Plains and Fanwood High School seniors and college students.

“Kicking off our fourth year with a new name, Dining for Dollars, we have expanded our list of generous participating restaurants,” said Joy Donaldson, Foundation trustee and lead organizer of the event. “The support and generosity of our community is a cornerstone of our mission to provide scholarships to local high-school and college students. Restaurant Week adds a delicious twist from our community’s best restaurants in an effort to raise money for such an important cause.”

The Foundation has awarded over $4 million to deserving students since 1967. These scholarship awards are made possible by the generosity of local businesses and members of the community and beyond.

“In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we are so incredibly thankful for the opportunity to support local businesses as well as the students deserving of scholarship support. Thank you to our wonderful local businesses for making this event a reality,” said Foundation President Michelle Wyrwa.

Customers are asked to mention to their server or cashier that they are dining out in support of Dining for Dollars and the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Scholarship Foundation or show a copy of the Dining for Dollars flyer found on the website www.spfscholarshipfoundation.org/ diningfordollars/. The calendar of participation by local restaurants also can be found on the website.

Dine-in, pickup and direct from establishment delivery orders qualify. Orders via third-party delivery services such as UberEATS, Grub Hub, DoorDash, etc., are not eligible for this fund-raising event.
