Premiere Stages’ Diversion Signals SOS for Nurses

UNION – During the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020, doctors, nurses and hospital personnel were on the front lines. The New York City community was shown on nightly news programs clanging pots and pans to show their appreciation for the medical staff heroes. Seemingly, we’ve moved on, forgotten those we called “heroes.” But what about the mental health toll that the pandemic took on the nurses who had to pull multiple consecutive shifts? What about the ones who were afraid to go home to their loved ones for fear of passing on the deadly virus? What about the mental health of the nurses who were on the frontline of that medical catastrophe?
