August 9, 2021: Superior pitching, along with a number of memorable defensive plays, dictated the pace of Game 1 in the best-of-three A Division Championship series of the Union County Senior 60+ Men’s Softball League at Memorial Field 3 in Linden on August 9. Top-seeded Renda Roads and second-seeded Linwood II were locked in a 3-3 stalemate until Felix Velez stepped to the plate with one out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning and lofted a sacrifice fly to right field to bring home courtesy runner Steve Barba with the winning run.
