Perfection was on the horizon but the top-seeded Swan Hotel & Suites men had to get past second- seeded Deegan Roofing in Game 1 at Memorial Field 3 in Linden on July 29 of the best of three A Division championship series of the Union County Senior 60+ Softball League. Their undefeated streak seemed in jeopardy when the Deeganators held a 4-1 lead, but the Swans scratched home plate four times in the bottom of the fifth inning and scuffed it again five times in the sixth to arise with a 10-4 triumph.
