A quest for a perfect season may have been on the minds of the top-seeded Swan Hotel & Suites men when they hosted fourth-seeded Linwood II in Game 1 of the best-of-three, A-Division semifinal round of the Union County Senior 60+ Men’s Softball League at Memorial Field 3 in Linden on July 22. The Swanies were the benefactors of a superb performance from their ace pitcher Doug Fischer and clumped together hits at the right time to emerge with a 13-3 victory.
