FROM RIPKEN DISTRICT 12 12U CHAMPS TO MID ATLANTIC CHAMPS...The Cranford 12U’s, who edged the SPF Raiders, 6-4, for the Cal Ripken, Jr. District 12 crown at Gumbert Field 2 on June 29 went on to win the Middle Atlantic Tournament crown at Guilderland, N.Y. on July 21. The teams consisted of RJ Cordero, Ryan Feeley, Mikey Todd, Ted Dreyer, Mike Matlosz, Brett Perrotta, Luca Rubert, JP Farrell, Tommy DiPaolo and Zach Kehrle, along with coaches Mike Feeley, Ryan Matlosz and Kevin Wetherell. Cranford 12U Cougars Capture Ripken Mid Atlantic Region Title
The Cranford 12U baseball team and the Scotch Plains-Fanwood 12U squad advanced all the way from the Cal Ripken Jr. District 12 Tournament held in Westfield to the Middle Atlantic Regional (MAR) Tournament held in Guilderland, N.Y. and both teams performed admirably. The SPF Raiders advanced to the MAR quarterfinal round and the Cranford Cougars captured the MAR crown.
