Clark Squad Participates In Memorial Day Observances

CLARK — The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad (CVES) was proud to attend Clark Township’s Memorial Day commemorations on May 27. Both ambulances were in the parade and EMTs Gary Wagner and Anshul Natakala carried the squad’s banner while walking the parade route. EMTs Pauline LeDoeze and Carlos Colon drove the duty ambulance in the parade. Luckily, they did not have any calls during the parade and ceremony.

Mr. Wagner started with the squad in 1974 and has been an active member since. “I was so glad that the American Legion decided to keep the parade as scheduled on Monday even though there was a chance of rain,” he said. “After all, the soldiers didn’t stop serving because of bad weather.”

Mr. Wagner also thanked American Legion Post 328 for inviting attendees to a barbecue after the ceremony.

Mr. Colon quoted General Douglas MacArthur, who said, “No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation.” Mr. Colon then said that he has the deepest gratitude for the fallen men and women who were vigilant in preservingAmerica’s freedom and giving the citizens of the United States a chance to make this world a better place.

The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad is proud to have served the Clark community since 1941.

Donations are gratefully accepted and may be made by sending a check to The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad, 875 Raritan Road, Clark, N.J. 07066, or donating online at the CVES webpage at ourclark. com ( https:// www.ourclark.com/324/Clark-Volunteer- Emergency-Squad). Anyone with questions or interested in joining the Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad is invited to contact the squad at cves@ourclark.com for an application.
