The Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School softball team went on the road and recorded a pair of huge victories, both in extra innings. First, the Raiders scored twice in the top of the eighth inning then held the Brearley Bears in the bottom of the inning to earn a 4-2 victory on May 6. The next day the Raiders went up to Berkeley Heights and plated three runs in the top of the ninth inning to topple the 17-5 Governor Livingston Highlanders, 7-4.

Maddie Bogart was on the mound for six innings and recorded three strikeouts against the Bears. Olivia DiSalvo relieved, struck out three Bears and picked up the victory. At the plate, Bogart singled and scored once. DiSalvo had an RBI single. Harper Shimko tripled and scored once. as did Emily Roof. Sam Friscia tripled, singled and scored once. Angelina Valente doubled and singled. Sarina Llano walked and had an RBI. Sairah Llano rapped an RBI single and Sam Marcolina scored once. Losing pitcher Gia Pirozzi recorded eight strikeouts.

DiSalvo, the winning pitcher, blasted a home run, walked twice and had two RBI against the Highlanders. Friscia doubled, singled, had three RBI and scored once. Sarina Llano singled twice and scored twice. Sairah Llano singled and walked once. Shimko had an RBI single and scored once. Bogart singled and scored. Roof walked and scored.
