When I heard David Kiefer was a candidate in Ward 4, I made it a point to attend an event where he was speaking. For the past few years, I have felt that my concernshavenotbeenaddressedbythe current council members, so I wanted to hear what David had to say. To say I was impressed is an understatement.

I found David to be extremely knowledgeable about the issues residents are mostconcernedwith,andheisextremely passionate about helping to make Westfield the best it can be. He seeks to preserve what is great about our town while helping to move it forward in a smart way.

In order to function in the best interests of all residents, a Town Council needs multiple viewpoints and healthy debate. For that reason, David’s contention that “process matters” resonated with me. I feel confident that David is an independent thinker who will bring a strong, logic-based voice to the council and thoughtfully consider issues before voting on them.

Finally, seeing David speak at the Town Council Candidates Night cemented my support for him. He was articulate,well-informed,andchallenged the idea of the “all or nothing” choices we have been given for projects that will greatly impact our town such as One Westfield Place and the Edison Fields project.

I encourage other residents to watch therecordingoftheCandidatesNightor, at the very least, David’s closing statement that night. The best choice for Ward 4 is clear. As an Independent, my vote will be going to David Kiefer for Ward 4 on November 7.
