Events in the final four minutes of the first half shifted the momentum of the Westfield Blue Devils’ game against the Watchung Hills Warriors football team completely in the visitors’ direction at Gary Kehler Stadium in Westfield on September 2. Trailing 20-6 with 4:09 left in the half, the Warriors guided by quarterback Aleks Sitkowski scored a touchdown on a 10-play, 67-yard drive then recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff at the two-yard line and cashed in en route to a 34-20 victory.
