Please Join Me In Voting for Amanda Como for Ward 1

In just a few days, Westfield residents will have an opportunity to vote for an individual who aligns with their values to represent them on town council. For me, this means I’ll be voting for Amanda Como for town council representing Ward 1.

It’s important that our town council represents the values of its constituents and the priorities of the community. For the six years that I’ve known Amanda, I’ve got to know someone who puts family and the community first. As a parent of three children, two of whom are in the same grade as Amanda’s kids, I’ve had a front row seat to Amanda’s continued involvement in the schools and sports teams. Although she’s new to politics, she’s a public servant through and through. Her relentless pursuit for positive outcomes for her classes and teams means she’s not just a helper, but a leader who leads teams with diverse opinions and finds ways to be successful. She believes that it’s not only what we accomplish, but how we accomplish it.

Regarding the relevant issues Westfield is facing today, Amanda wants our Westfield kids to have Westfield sports fields to play on, but she believes it’s important that we don’t skip the step of making sure those fields make sense for our neighbors both in placement and in cost. Amanda believes in historic preservation and individual rights and thinks our expectations and requirements of residents are considerate and reasonable. She also believes our downtown needs more innovative ideas and approaches for the twenty-first century, and finding that innovation not from small groups or exclusive committees but from community-based conversations and studies that involve business owners and property owners.

Amanda is a highly skilled communicator who is not only an incredible listener but also one that does not shy away from debate as she takes a no-nonsense approach to find common ground and overcome barriers. I’ve witnessed this both as a friend and as a client of her local interior design business as she manages project budgets, timelines, and contractors. Her logic in solving problems is practical and based not on ideological platforms, but on common sense to achieve pragmatic solutions.

It’s time we give Amanda this opportunity to step into a new public service role, representing the values of our community while applying her relentless drive and communication skills to achieve positive results for Westfield.

Please join me in voting for Amanda Como for Ward 1 town council on November 2nd!
